Answers to common questions about language extenders such as LinguaWin.

Q. Does LinguaWin translate text?

A. No. Language Extenders enable users to enter text in a foreign language in exactly the same way they enter text in English.

Q. How can I enter a language without a foreign keyboard that goes with it?

A. Physical keyboards do not decide the characters that are associated with every key. The operating system decides that. LinguaWin implements a new mapping of the keyboard so that different characters are associated with every key.

Q. Can I change the keyboard mapping?

A. LinguaWin includes a keyboard editor that allows the user to associate any character with any key. The keyboard resulting from this can be given a new name and selected by the user afterwards. This does not affect the other mappings which will still be available for the user.

Q. Does LinguaWin include proofing tools or spell checkers?

A. No. LinguaWin enables the user to enter foreign languages or modify the keyboard layout. Proofing Tools are available as separate kits. When ordering Microsoft proofing tools please specify Windows and Office versions you are running. Third party proofing tools are also available for Russian.
